We Be Retirin’

Jamaqua Dive Centre has closed up shop!

Since 1989, Jamaqua has been diving the north shores of Jamaica with divers from all over the world and we’ve made a lot of friends along the way. However, the time has come for us to slow down and take some time for ourselves. Thea and I have decided to retire and close Jamaqua for good.

We’d like to take the time to thank a bunch of people. Mostly our kids, Monique and Dan, who have done so much over the years to help make Jamaqua what it is and without their involvement the past 20 years would not have been nearly as gratifying. We’d also like to thank Wayne (our son-in-law) for his tireless efforts in helping us make Jamaqua a great dive shop.

We’ve been lucky to have had the privilege of working with a number of great instructors and local staff who have added to our memories. Thanks to each and every one of you for being a part of Jamaqua. A very special thank you goes out to: Erik, Tessa, Uriel, Carolina, Ruud, Tanya, and Matthew

In the end, it is our diving guests that we would like to thank the most. We have made a lot of friends who have come back to dive with us year after year. Thinking about the days under the palm tree at Club Caribbean, discussing the days’ diving events over a drink will be forever cherished. We have been so fortunate to have met so many wonderful people who have helped us build a treasure-trove of memories.

Thea and I don’t want to get too sentimental, and if you know us well enough you would expect nothing less. So, with that we’d really just like to say…Thank you and We Be Divin’!
